Boarded Up

Wrote this last week.

tear down her walls
build the all back up
put them all around her heart
so she won't fall again

she's been hurt so many times before
and now she says no more
she's tired of feeling
while getting nothing in return

she can't stand this pain
says she'll never love again
she did the worst thing possible
she fell for her friend

he was everything she ever wanted
everything she ever dreamed
sometimes it seemed he like her too
or maybe it was just a dream

he was everything to her
her heart, her hopes, her dreams
but soon it won't matter
her heart will be boarded up again
